Ukraine 1MW2MWh battery energy storage system installation

Project Overview

In a major industrial park in Ukraine, Anengji has successfully deployed a robust 1MW/2MWh Battery Energy Storage System, integrated with eight ECO-E261LP Power Conversion Systems (PCS) and two Static Transfer Switch (STS) cabinets. This project is specifically designed to navigate Ukraine’s local electricity tariffs and renewable energy demands. By leveraging peak-shaving, emergency backup, and solar PV integration, the system significantly enhances energy independence and financial returns for the facility.

Detailed Application Scenarios

1. Energy Arbitrage (Peak-Valley Shaving)

Ukraine implements a strict Time-of-Use (ToU) electricity policy, where off-peak night rates are approximately 1/4 of peak daytime rates. The system charges during these low-cost nighttime windows and discharges during peak hours to power the industrial park.

Result: Effectively slashes electricity expenditures and shortens the ROI (Payback Period) to under 5 years.

2. Emergency Backup Power (Resilience)

Given the risks of grid instability and extreme weather in the region, the system provides critical uninterrupted power. Coordinated with STS cabinets, it achieves a seamless transition to backup power within 20 milliseconds.

Benefit: Protects sensitive loads such as automated production lines and data centers, preventing catastrophic losses from downtime.

3. Maximizing Solar PV Self-Consumption

The industrial park features a large rooftop solar array. However, midday generation often exceeds local demand. Our lithium ion battery energy storage captures this surplus green energy instead of curtailing it, releasing it during evening peaks.

Impact: Increases the facility’s solar self-consumption rate from under 40% to over 85%.

Core Project Advantages

  • High Economic Returns: Through a multi-revenue stream (electricity savings + enhanced PV efficiency), the project delivers an annual comprehensive return increase of over 30%.
  • Millisecond-Level Power Security: The synergy between the STS cabinets and ECO-E261LP PCS ensures industrial-grade continuity, meeting the most stringent power reliability standards.
  • Modular Design & Scalability: The system utilizes standardized modular units, allowing for easy expansion to 2MW/4MWh in the future to accommodate business growth.
  • Extreme Climate Adaptability: Engineered for resilience, the equipment has been verified to operate in a wide temperature range from -30°C to +55°C, ensuring stable performance through Ukraine’s harsh winters and hot summers.
  • Intelligent Energy Management (EMS): Features the integrated Anengji EMS, which autonomously optimizes charging/discharging strategies while providing 24/7 remote monitoring and predictive maintenance alerts.
